STRENGTHS / ABILITIES

SPEED Quick as a big cat in the jungle, the strong muscles in her front and hind legs help her to propel her large, striped body across open and more closed areas. Her tail works as a useful rudder to help her make sharp turns and increase her overall maneuverability.

POWER Naturally gifted in the sense of raw, physical power; 150kg of muscle mass give her the upper hand in most physical fights. Not to mention the 8cm long claws, capable of tearing and shredding through an enemy.

STEALTH Her striped coat makes it easy to conceal herself in forest areas as well as long grass (granted her upper body is also concealed). But she’s also surprisingly light on her feet and talented with foot placement.

WEAKNESSES

GIRTH Due to her larger body, she finds it difficult to walk around crowded places or maneuver herself in small settings. It also makes it harder to dodge attacks in a fight since she is a rather large target.

LONE WOLF Having a reputation for being a solitary animal, Des often finds peace in being just that. As a downside though, it makes it difficult for her to accept help, work with others, or consider anybody else’s opinion but her own. It’s also hard for her to connect with people and make close friends.

ADAPTABILITY Growing up in a mossy, jungle area has accustomed her to that way of living. Her body and mind find it hard to adapt to new environments, especially whilst fighting since she’s used to having many obstacles around and steady ground for her feet. Sometimes, if the change is drastic enough, it might even make her fall ill.

BACKGROUND

Desdemona grew up as the runt in a litter of three, her parents were both very caring people, so much so that against their natural instincts, they had decided to stay together, and to keep their family close to ensure their survival out in the jungle.

Although she had no objections to keeping close to the little herd of taurs, her two siblings didn’t appreciate this view as their own instincts were telling them to get away and start their own lives. They were constantly frustrated, and in their frustrations they tended to pick on and tease Des, much like they had during her younger years since she was the smallest of the three.

Without much of a community to escape to, the young taur became reliant on her parents for support as she felt she couldn’t trust her siblings as they grew older. But the support her parents offered often left her being babied and spoiled, brewing a self-entitled and arrogant personality within her.

As she grew brattier by the day, it not only affected her two siblings, but her parents also. She often took them for granted or demanded things constantly without lifting a single paw for others. While this gave her quite a bold attitude that aided in standing up to her siblings once in awhile, it also brought great devastation upon her when their mother passed away of an illness in late December.

In the absence of the loving figure she used to lean against so much, she felt a great hole in her heart and a deep regret for how she’d treated her - this was only worsened by her siblings blaming her for their mother’s death out of their own grief and sadness.

It soon became crystal clear to her that the way she treated others was horrid, and she became terribly depressed, all but losing her spark. The only thing she found joy in thereafter was looking after certain plant life, something her mother used to be quite adept in.

Without the ‘glue’ that held their family together, her two siblings went their own ways finally and disappeared into the jungle whilst Des was left to look after their grieving father.

2 years went by and she was still unable to come to terms with herself, leaving her in a state of personal conflict, with a continued grip on the past.

But when cleaning up for bed one night, she found a suspicious letter on her floor … maybe it will change her life for the better?
